CPH speeds up terminal expansion

Record numbers of passengers anticipated in summer

Copenhagen Airport says it is expecting more than 6.6 million passengers during the busy summer months of June, July and August, pushing it to speed up its DKK540 million (€73 million) construction project for its baggage system and Terminal 2. The previously announced project is designed to provide better service, much more space and more check-in desks for passengers.
The several hundred thousand travellers at Copenhagen Airport this Easter saw a large number of construction walls, open ceilings and a lot of construction dust in Terminal 2 and in the arcade between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.
“The open ceilings in the arcade and the many construction walls make it very apparent to passengers that we are speeding up our construction project, which includes expansion of the arcade and integration into Terminal 2,” the airport’s chief technology officer, Christian Poulsen, said. “We must have the 1400 additional square metres of space and the 12 new check-in desks ready before the summer holidays, so we are busy, but we’ll make it.”
