CPH opens expanded, improved Terminal 2

Two completed projects represent €72 million investment

Copenhagen Airport has opened its newly refurbished and expanded Terminal 2, after a year of extensive construction activity. At the same time, an expanded and improved baggage system has been put into operation.
The two projects represent a combined investment of DKK 540 million (€72 million) and CPH now says it is ready for the summer season, expected to be busier than ever. Terminal 2 now has an additional 1,400 square metres for passengers, and capacity has been expanded with 12 new check-in desks and 16 check-in kiosks.
At the same time, the baggage system has been expanded to include an additional 2.8 kilometres of baggage conveyors, 500 motors and new software. It can now handle up to 30 million passengers.
In the coming years, the airport will continue to expand through a number of major construction projects targeting terminals, baggage sorting and the manoeuvring area. Refurbishment of the remaining part of Terminal 2 is scheduled for completion in 2016.
