Copenhagen folk & food fest reveals line-up

International and Danish artists confirmed so far
Copenhagen’s first folk music festival, featuring artists both young and not-so-young, has confirmed a line-up bands and singers.
Scheduled for June 16-17 in one of the city’s attractive centrally located parks, Kongens Have, the Komos Festival aims to be “a recurring festival aiming to blend food and music in its own unique way”.
As the Danes have a remarkable interest in food and music, the organisers say, a festival like Komos where “scenes and experiences of amazing food and splendid music are combined” seems like a recipe for success.
The word Komos is from ancient Greece and means an unrestrained party of fun and games. The subtitle of the festival is Folk and Food in the Garden.
One of the aims is to showcase both the traditional and the new in the folk genre, highlighting diversity and appealing to all ages, genders and social classes.
The international and Danish acts announced so far: Kris Kristofferson, Lisa Ekdahl, Passenger, Flogging Molly, Jacob Dinesen, Jonah Blacksmith, Folkeklubben, Las & Dissing, Joseph, Matthew and the Atlas, Leif Vollebekk, Seafret, Tall Heights, Smooth Hound Smith, Michael Møller & Foreign Lands, The Grenadines, The House of Songs feat. Poul Krebs, Troy Campbell and Daniel Lemma.
Komos is one of a couple of new music festivals and food fests planned for the Danish capital this year, celebrating alternative music, folk music and local organic foods.
