Capacity to rise to 40mn passengers a year by 2035
By 2035, Copenhagen Airport will be able to handle twice as many passengers as it does today, according to plans the airport has revealed.
Already appearing massive for passengers who have to walk to the furthest gates to catch a flight to London, Barcelona or San Francisco, CPH will now gradually expand much further.
The airport’s authorities are planning an expansion that will raise capacity from 24 million passengers per year to 40 million.
“It’s not merely a vision for the future, but a definite, thoroughly developed plan for expansion,” Thomas Woldbye, the airport’s chief executive, said. “We have undertaken very detailed preparatory work which will allow us to extend at a practical tempo.”
