Major investor reportedly considering selling shares
One of Copenhagen Airport’s major investors, the Australian investment bank Macquarie, may soon sell its majority stake, according to press reports.
Macquarie holds 58% of the airport’s shares, but it is has recruited consultants to look into the bank’s investment in the airport – something that could eventually result in a sale.
The bank has been a shareholder in the airport since 2005 and majority shareholder since 2008. The Danish state owns most of the remaining shares.
Since 2005, the airport’s share price has more than doubled, hence the potential selloff. Macquarie expects to finalise an ownership plan for the airport at some point this year.
