CPH gets more than 2.7 million pax in a single month
Passenger numbers at Copenhagen Airport were up 5.1% in July, passing the 2.7 million passenger mark for the first time ever in a single month.
The airport explained that “the unsettled Danish summer made record numbers of people from Denmark and southern Sweden head for warmer climates for their summer holidays”.
Exactly 2,727,691 travellers passed through CPH in July, marking a new monthly record. Thomas Woldbye, chief executive of Copenhagen Airports, noted that “the figures show that both European and intercontinental routes attracted sun-starved Danes.”
In earlier years CPH saw a few peak travel days, but this year’s traffic was spread across a greater number of days, he said. The months of June and July saw 20 days with more than 90,000 passengers, compared to just six days last year.
In 2015 to date, more than 15 million passengers have travelled through Copenhagen Airport, which represents a 0.8% increase over the same period of 2014.
