10 new features for the summer with Air France

With the summer holiday season approaching, Air France is offering new services, at the airport, on board and online.

These new and innovative services reflect the company’s strategy to enhance its range of products and services as part of its transformation plan. New destinations in Europe, Africa and Asia are just a part of Air France’s new features to offer its customers 10 new products this summer!

 

Travel made easier

Express channels

For customers looking for more autonomy in organizing their trip, Air France is offering new express channels where passengers can print their own baggage labels at the self-service kiosk and go directly to the dedicated 'express' baggage drop-off area without queuing at check-in counters. Easily identifiable "Express" signage has been developed for this purpose.

 This express channel is being introduced this summer at a dozen French airports including Paris-Orly, Paris-Charles de Gaulle terminals 2F and 2G, Bordeaux, Lyon, Mulhouse, Nantes, Nice, Pau, Strasbourg and Toulon. It will also be implemented in the coming weeks in Biarritz, Brest, Montpellier and Toulouse.

Baggage collection and delivery at the customer’s address in the Paris region

Air France offers its customers a range of personalized airport services at Paris-Charles de Gaulle.

 This range of services is being enhanced this summer with a new possibility: baggage delivery and collection at the customer’s address in the Paris region.
 
 Passengers arriving at Paris-Charles de Gaulle can now have their baggage delivered to the address of their choice in or around Paris.
 
Similarly, in early July, on departure from Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Air France will collect baggage directly from the customer’s address: check-in procedures are then carried out directly at the address provided by the customer. The baggage will then be forwarded by Air France to the airport, wrapped in film and loaded onto the customer’s flight. In this way, the customer does not need to worry about their baggage and can simply pick it up at their destination.
 
The range of personalized airport services also enables customers to benefit from assistance from a dedicated Air France agent throughout their time at the airport via the priority channel at their departure terminal, when they have a connecting flight or on arrival. They can also customize their trip by taking out various a la carte options:
•transfer from the airport downtown (and vice versa) by chauffeur-driven car, minibus or motorcycle,
•a hotel room for a few hours to cool off or enjoy breakfast before heading into town.

 This personalized assistance service is available from €200, to accompany one to four people, and enables customers to earn 400 Flying Blue Award Miles with every purchase.

These services can be purchased by calling +33 (0)1 72 95 00 77*, from 8 am to 9 pm Monday to Friday and until 8 pm on Saturday (Paris time), or online on the Air France websites in the following countries: Germany, Belgium, Canada, China, Spain, United States, France, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Portugal and Russia. * Price of a call from France or abroad without additional tax

Gastronomic dining and comfort on board

Enjoy a unique gourmet experience with A la Carte dining

Get off to a head start on your holidays by ordering one of five A la Carte menus available as an alternative to the menu of the day (free of charge): enjoy a genuine French fine dining experience with the Tradition menu, “Une Selection LENOTRE”, specially designed for Air France by the famous Lenôtre culinary institute, “Fresh from the sea” with Ocean, “A green touch to complement the blue sky” with Bio (Organic), and “A taste of Dolce Vita” with Italia.

This new offer is available in the Voyageur and Premium Voyageur cabins on most long-haul flights departing from Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly. The five menus with prices varying between 12 and 28 euros can be ordered online on the Air France site at the time of booking in the “Manage my bookings” section, and up to 24 hours before departure.

In Business class, Guy Martin signature dishes and a full sleep seat

Starting on June 1st 2012 and for the next 8 months, customers on all long-haul flights from Paris can enjoy signature dishes designed by Guy Martin, Michelin-starred chef at Grand Véfour restaurant. To ensure frequent travellers can enjoy a variety of dishes, these culinary delights are renewed twice a month. This original and contemporary in-flight culinary experience is conducted in partnership with Servair chefs.

After savouring these new dishes, customers can enjoy the exceptional comfort provided by the new longer, wider and more spacious full sleep seats, currently available on over half of the long-haul fleet serving over 50 destinations*.

A refined menu in Premium Voyageur

This summer, Air France is improving its in-flight service in Premium Voyageur cabin. Passengers will discover a refined menu specially designed by Michel Nugues, a member of the “Toques du ciel” airline cuisine group, comprising new entrées and delectable desserts.

A selection of fine chocolates is served to passengers at the end of the meal.

Throughout the flight, various snacks are available before or after the main mealtimes.

New in-flight entertainment offer

This summer, Air France is improving its video-on-demand in-flight entertainment offer thanks to new navigation features and a new more intuitive presentation of the cinema and TV sections.

There will also be a new edition of the in-flight entertainment guide included in the Air France Magazine with a more colourful look and feel, and renewed and appealing content to help passengers choose their programmes.

A new Alizé seat on flights to the overseas departments  

On the Boeing 777-300ER between Paris and Fort-de-France, Pointe-à-Pitre and Réunion and on the Airbus A340 serving Cayenne, Air France is offering new seats in the Alizé cabin. These fixed-shell seats offer customers the comfort of a private space and 40% additional space compared with the seat in Voyageur class.

Los Angeles, Singapore by A380 and two new long-haul destinations  

Fly away to the four corners of the world this summer with Air France’s offer of two new long-haul destinations: Wuhan in China, with 3 weekly flights and Abuja in Nigeria, served with one daily flight.

With the arrival of two new Airbus A380s in its fleet, Air France will also operate a daily flight to Los Angeles and three weekly flights to Singapore with its super jumbo.

New destinations for long summer weekends

This summer, on departure from Marseille, Nice and Toulouse, Air France is offering 1,300 weekly flights to France, Europe and the Mediterranean at prices starting from €50 inc. tax for one-way tickets.

New summer services include: 
•on departure from Marseille, Barcelona, Hamburg, Venice, Marrakech, Berlin. Tel Aviv will also be served three times weekly on departure from Marseille, starting on 5 September 2012.  
•on departure from Toulouse, Athens, Berlin, Casablanca, Hamburg, Istanbul, Malaga, Malta, Marrakech, Naples, Prague, Seville, Tunis, Venice and Vienna.
•on departure from Nice, Athens, Naples, Tel Aviv and Venice.

New travel apps

Early in July, Air France will offer a new free iPad app to inspire travellers by promoting the Company’s destinations and competitive fares. Booking and payment facilities will be available in optimum conditions of security. The Air France iPad app will also give users access to other Company services including check-in or manage my bookings.

Air France is also offering other innovative apps for smartphones: with “Best Air France Offers’, users can browse an interactive world map and obtain instant access to the best promotions. The « Travel Book by Air France » app allows users to create and share their travel photo album.
