Choice is with the passenger: SunExpress facing the future with a new fare and service concept

SunEco, SunClassic and SunPremium: three different fare levels – Innovative wireless inflight entertainment system – Entertainment and catering orders on board using own mobile phone, laptop or Tablet

Sun Express, the joint venture of Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines, will be introducing a new fare system in summer based on graduated fares with different services. Passengers can choose between three fare levels, ranging from the most inexpensive flight without any additional services, right through to the premium offer with many extras: SunEco, SunClassic and SunPremium.

SunEco offers the most favourable price and includes a baggage allowance of at least 20 kilograms. Further services such as meals, seat reservations and excess luggage can continue to be booked as in the past at www.sunexpress.com. Passengers who decide in favour of SunClassic will receive a free seat reservation, a snack as well as a non-alcoholic drink on board and can take 25 kilograms of luggage along with them. When booking the SunPremium fare a seat is reserved for the passenger with extra leg-room between the seats (XLeg seat). Further features of the new premium fare are the choice of a high-quality hot meal, an increase of ten kilograms in the luggage allowance, as well as check-in on the previous evening at most German airports as well as in Zurich. A change to the SunClassic and SunPremium fare can be made on payment of a fee.

Modern Inflight entertainment above the clouds

In summer this year, SunExpress will become the first airline worldwide to introduce the wireless inflight entertainment system from the Irish company “Media inMotion” (www.mediainmotion.aero). The exact start-up date depends on the official licensing. All passengers will then be able to access an onboard network via their mobile devices (mobile phone, laptop or Tablet), where films, magazines and newspapers, games and much more will be available – and do so quite individually. Via the new inflight entertainment system, passengers will also be able to inform themselves about the destination and book offers like excursions, hire cars and hotels for their stay while still on board. With these new possibilities, the holiday airline will be a pioneer in its field in the area of entertainment technology. A further highlight is the possibility to order food and drinks directly from the crew using one’s own mobile device at any time.

Extended catering offer

An extended choice of fresh hot and cold food will be available as of this summer on board and can be ordered in advance at the SunExpress webpage (www.sunexpress.com) or from the call centre. This also applies to passengers who have booked their travel with a tour operator. Drinks as well as sweets and snacks are available for as little as 1 Euro in direct onboard sale. An additional offer of food for children is also on the programme, so that even the smallest passengers really feel at home. In addition to the well-known services like Priority Check-In and Priority Boarding, in future there will be further surprises for families travelling with children.
