China to invest trillions in tourism by 2020

New cruise-ship ports, theme parks, campsites, toilets
China is boosting its support for tourism, creating new tourist attractions, theme parks, investment funds, even campsites, to try to lift its softening economy.
The government plans to double leisure spending to CNY5.5 trillion yuan (€773 billion) by 2020.
The grand plan includes 10 new cruise-ship ports by 2020, whole fleets of vacation boats, around 1,000 camp grounds for recreational vehicles, and the construction or renovation of 57,000 toilet facilities for tourists. Wireless networks will be installed at 10,000 major tourist spots.
Funds will be created and private investors encouraged to become partners in various projects.
