Check-in delays hit SAS website and app

Passengers advised to arrive at airports early

Thousands of SAS passengers are being advised to arrive early at airports today as problems with the airline’s website continue. Passengers have been unable to check-in online, sparking fears of long lines at airports.

Problems began on Monday afternoon, with users experiencing difficulties booking tickets online. Customers posted complaints on Facebook that the SAS mobile app had not been working properly.

“Last night we were close to a solution, but then a new fault arose,” Trine Kromann-Mikkelsen, head of public relations and communications in Denmark, told Swedish television.

SAS says the problems are not the result of a security breach or hacker attack, but are likely to have started when a new website feature brought online.
