Only a tiny proportion of buyers suspending their travel
Business travel in Europe is holding up despite the recent attacks in Paris, a new survey says. Just a tiny proportion of travel buyers are temporarily stopping their travel.
Airlines and travel technology firms say flight bookings dropped in the immediate aftermath of the November 13 attacks, according to the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) survey, but analysts claim this was mainly due to leisure travellers, who are more sensitive to security.
The association said its survey of travel buyers showed 79% of European business travel buyers believed it was important that travel within Europe continued as usual, despite the recent terrorist activity.
Only 1% of those surveyed said they had suspended travel within Europe, while 47% reported no change and 26% said their company’s travel within Europe was slightly reduced.
