Hear the pouring of tea and the chimes of Big Ben
The pouring of a cup of tea, a black cab beeping and the chimes of Big Ben are all being used in a new TV and interactive online advert to inspire the world to choose Britain for their next holiday.
Sounds of GREAT Britain is a £2.5 million (€3 million) global film campaign, commissioned by VisitBritain and created by ad agency Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R, launching across the country’s key markets – Europe, the USA, Brazil, China, India and the Gulf states.
The advert’s soundtrack, called Feel the Love, sets traditional British sounds and activities against a soundtrack by the band Rudimental, supposed to represent a modern, contemporary Britain.
The clip features landmarks, people, locations and experiences, including a steam train, the sound of a Wimbledon tennis crowd, the buzz at the LoveBox festival and the medieval fortifications at Caerphilly Castle.
Other locations include Edinburgh, Stonehenge, Lake Windermere, Big Ben, the Royal Albert Hall, Shakespeare’s Globe, Harrods, Soho, a pub and a curry house.
A digital version allows users to create their own itinerary and clip, sharing it on social media, and are taken to find out more online about their chosen route..
