New: Gran Canaria and Tenerife
Fly Norwegian and step out into eternal springtime: as from 1 February 2014 the Norwegian low-cost airline will be flying from Berlin-Schönefeld to two new destinations on the Canary Islands. The airline’s new routes are to Tenerife (TFS) and Gran Canaria (LPA). Both services fly twice weekly. Ticket prices start from €49 and the flying time is around five hours. Furthermore the airline will also fly between Berlin-Schönefeld and Barcelona (BCN) three times a week from April. Norwegian will be operating these services with a Boeing 737-800, which has space for 187 passengers. The Northern-European airline is the second-largest airline in Scandinavia and the third-largest low-cost airline in Europe. The fleet is regularly updated. In 2013, Norwegian flew more than 20 million passengers to 128 destinations worldwide. With an average annual temperature of a balmy 21°C, the Canary Islands have an ideal climate. Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands, has 500 beaches that are perfect for bathing, diving or surfing. The crater landscape of the National Park around the highest mountain in Spain, Pico del Teide (3718 metres) and the old city centre of La Laguna in the north-western part of the island are both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. With its numerous micro-climates, Gran Canaria is practically a miniature continent. The island’s highlights include the wandering sand dune of Maspalomas and the great nightlife in the southern part of the island. In the north, visitors can explore the island’s traditions and history and enjoy its beautiful natural scenery.
