To get closer to its end users and stakeholders, Orascom Development announces Atlantic Link as their official representative in the Scandinavian market.

Altdorf / Copenhagen – August 12, 2013: Starting August 2013, Orascom Development, the owning and managing company of El Gouna, Red Sea and Taba Heights, Sinai, will be officially represented by Atlantic Link.

The agreement covers the entire Scandinavian market and comes as a result of the notable growth in the number of Scandinavian guests visiting the towns over the last couple of years.

“We highly believe in the great potential that the Scandinavian market has for our towns”, said Jens Freise, Senior Director of Sales & Marketing, Orascom Development. “Our resort towns are master planned to meet the expectations of the most sophisticated European traveller and we are happy that what we have been offering for the last 22 years is being appreciated by our Scandinavian guests”, he added.

In their capacity, Atlantic Link will be handling all media related activities with a special approach to travel trade professionals and end users to promote Orascom Development’s B2B & B2C engagement.

“We promise Life as it should be and we will save no effort to meet our promise”, explained Freise.  “Having an official representative with such a reputable market presence and appreciated knowhow in the tourism sector as that of Atlantic Link will help us better understand and cater to the expectations of our guests and clients”, Freise concluded.

“We were pleased by this appointment and are happy to be promoting Orascom Development’s towns not only those in Egypt, but also the newly opened ones in Oman”, said Karin Gert Nielsen, Managing Director of Atlantic Link. “Destinations like Egypt and Oman have a tremendous appeal among Scandinavian travellers and with the standards adopted by Orascom Development, the towns offer a perfect business and leisure destination to the Scandinavian traveller.”

Nielsen explained that they aim at creating an interactive and ongoing communication platform with the media, travel critics and trade professionals, not only to increase awareness or build up on the market base of the towns, but also to feed the developers back on the personalized needs and travel trends among its target audience.

A selection of Orascom Development’s destinations:

Egypt:

El Gouna is located 25km from Hurghada International Airport and the town’s 10km Red Sea beachfront makes it an amazing year-round destination for scuba diving and kite surfing. El Gouna is seen as Egypt’s most environmentally friendly destinations and was the powerhouse behind Egypt’s Green Star Hotel Initiative. Taba Heights is situated on the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula facing the Gulf of Aqaba, which emanates from The Red Sea, the desert mountains towers above the town. The natural surroundings create a wealth of adventure activities and make the town’s 18-hole championship golf course one of Egypt’s most beautiful. Taba Heights’ marina gives easy access to multiple UNESCO World Heritage sites, such as the rose-red city of Petra, Jerusalem and the Dead Sea. Taba Heights is nominated for Egypt’s Leading Beach Destination at this year’s World Travel Awards.

Oman:

Salalah Beach located by the Arabian Sea is a luxurious, family-oriented destination. The town’s tropical climate makes way for fresh water springs and lush coconut trees while a man-made lagoon system extends the sea inland. Found next to the five-star hotels is the town’s two 18-hole PGA golf courses and a large marina.

Jebel Sifah faces the Gulf of Oman and is situated an hour from Oman’s capital Muscat City. This tourist town organises plenty of events, has a 18-hole PGA golf course and from the marina yachts sail to known dolphin watching sites and diving spots.
