Boeing looking forward to fast growth in airline industry in Asia-Pacific

Airlines in the Asia-Pacific region will be making new aircraft orders worth $1.5 trillion over the coming 20 years, Boeing has said. This part of the globe will lead the world in aviation, the manufacturer forecasts, as the countries’ economies continue to expand – not least in China and India. Air traffic in the region will increase 6.7% each year during the same period, it says.
Short-haul flights in Asia-Pacific will grow by 7% a year, Boeing predicts, boosting demand for narrow-body planes – such as the 737 and 737Max. Deliveries of the latter are due to begin in 2017.
