Airport Show to showcase latest security tech

Both aviation and security concerns continue to grow
Global annual spending on airport security will surge to US$12.67 billion by 2023, up from $8.22 billion in 2014, according to research by consultancy Frost & Sullivan.
The 16th edition of the Airport Show, to be held in Dubai from May 9 to 11, will bring in world-leading companies to showcase the latest safety and security solutions.
Among the key categories of aviation security technologies to watch out for in the coming years are safety and surveillance systems, passenger and baggage screening, perimeter and access control, digital surveillance and biometrics, high-level CCTV equipment and bird control systems, all of which will be on show in Dubai.
With the aviation industry continuing to grow yet concerns over security increasing, airports are investing millions in airport technology and system upgrades to ensure a seamless passenger experience.
“Growth brings its own set of threats, which airports need to effectively handle,” said Daniyal Qureshi of Reed Exhibitions Middle East. “Smart technology plays a major role in helping airports stay ahead of the constantly evolving threats. The Airport Show is an ideal platform to explore the latest technological solutions in different segments of airport security.”
