Three airlines and FAA against use of Galaxy Note 7
Following reports around the world of Samsung’s new Galaxy Note 7 phone bursting into flames while charging, prompting a recall of the devices, the three biggest Australian airlines have banned the charging of the phone on board.
Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin Australia say they brought in the charging ban because of the recall and as a safety precaution.
Meanwhile, the US Federal Aviation Administration is advising passengers not to use or charge the Galaxy Note 7 smartphone while on planes.
