Air Lituanica to launch flights to Gothenburg and Malmö
Connections between Sweden and Lithuania look set to intensify this summer. The Vilnius-based airline Air Lituanica will launch seasonal flights to Gothenburg and Malmö. Flights will be operated from the middle of June to the end of August, twice a week.
The new carrier, which began operating in May 2013, also flies between Vilnius and Berlin, Brussels, Prague, Munich, Paris and Tallinn. Flights are operated with two aircraft – an Embraer 175 with 86 seats and a CRJ 200 with 50 seats.
The Lithuanian ambassador to Sweden, Eitvydas Bajarūnas, welcomed the news. “It will definitely contribute to the strengthening of business and interpersonal relations as well as the growth of tourism flows,” he said.
Flights to Göteborg Landvetter will be operated on Wednesdays and Sundays from June 15, departing Vilnius at 18:15. Flights to Malmö will be operated on Tuesdays and Fridays, also departing Vilnius at 18:15. Fares start from €35.
