Virgin Atlantic flight details allegedly given to photographers
Film stars, big-name pop singers and football players are among the high-profile fliers at Virgin Atlantic whose flight details have allegedly been sold to paparazzi. The airline has launched an investigation into claims that a staff member was giving tipoffs to photographers about the celebrities’ flights booked on the airline.
Specifically, the Virgin Atlantic employee is accused of passing details of eight customers to the London-based photographic agency Big Pictures in 2010, including actress Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow and Sienna Miller, singer Robbie Williams and England football player Ashley Cole. The employee’s job had been to look after high-profile customers. He has since resigned.
“The allegations that have been raised are extremely serious and we have launched an immediate investigation,” a spokeswoman for the airline said.
