British Airways launches instructional video for nervous flyers

British Airways is launching a new instructional video for nervous flyers on its inflight entertainment system from September 1. The film, presented by British Airways pilot and course leader Captain Steve Allright, takes information from BA’s Flying with Confidence course, a one-day fear of flying program. In it, Captain Allright explains the technical side of flying, how an aircraft operates and other areas that can give some customers cause for concern, such as turbulence. The video also gives advice from clinical psychologists on the course, including relaxation techniques and how best to deal with anxiety and feelings of panic.
The airline has put a preview clip from the video on its YouTube site for customers who would like to know more about the course ahead of their flight: On the flights, passengers will be able to watch the video in full on the BA Well Being channel, one of hundreds of options on the airline’s inflight entertainment system.
