Airline forges alliance with gay pilots association

United becomes key partner of National Gay Pilots Association
In the USA, United Airlines has become a key partner for gay pilots as it enters a new partnership with the National Gay Pilots Association.
United will now be sponsoring the association’s next big networking event, the 2016 Winter Warm-Up in Palm Springs in January.
The NGPA is a non-profit body formed in 1990 for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender pilots in the US and around the world. It also operates an Educational Fund that gives scholarships for aspiring aviators.
“The National Gay Pilots Association closely reflects United’s working together culture – based on dignity, inclusion and respect,” said Greg Jones, the airline’s managing director of diversity and inclusion.
“Supporting the NGPA and the dedicated pilots throughout its ranks is another way we can honour the diversity of our customers, employees and the communities we serve.”
Chicago-based United Airlines scored a perfect score of 100 in the most recent HRC Corporate Equality Index – the fifth year in a row it achieved the top ranking.
