Tree permitted for carriage can be up to two metres in length
Passengers flying with airberlin on all international routes are being encouraged to carry a Christmas tree at no extra charge.
The tree permitted that can be taken on board can be up to two metres in length, but it must be declared at least 48 hours before departure by calling the airberlin service centre.
As in previous years, this service is proving especially popular among people travelling to Spain, the airline says. But passengers are also allowed to take their trees on long-haul flights.
The airberlin program goes under the motto Flying Home for Christmas and includes an advent calendar, mulled wine on flights between Germany, Austria and Switzerland starting from 16:00, and Aachener Printen gingerbread as a Christmas snack.
