Aircraft grounded for a day by rats

Qantas jet has unfortunate brush with baby rodents

A Boeing 767 aircraft belonging to Qantas has been grounded for more than 24 hours after the crew discovered a pack of baby rats in a cabinet containing a defibrillator – minutes before passengers were scheduled to board. The flight was due to take off from Sidney bound for Brisbane. While the passengers were directed to another plane, the rodents were removed. “We don’t know how they got there,” a Qantas spokesperson said. “The aircraft was at the gate for some time before departure and we are investigating.”
The Transportation Workers Union commented that members working for the airline have previously “had concerns about hygiene and sanitation on Qantas flights.”
