Air France struggles to stop September strike

Discussions will continue over the coming days

Air France says it is continuing negotiations with unions to reach an agreement to avoid a call for strike action between September 15 and 22. Discussions will continue over the coming days.

“Even before the outcome of negotiations with the unions, Air France is enabling its customers to postpone their trip or exchange their tickets free of charge,” the airline says. “Sales teams will inform customers of any changes to their flight schedule.”

The airline is offering to change passengers’ ticket before September 15 or postpone their trips until the period between September 23 and 30 at no extra charge.

If the strike takes place, Air France says that the application of the Diard law, which limits the right of pilots to strike, “will enable us to have a more accurate estimate of the number of staff members intending to strike and the impact on our customers, 48 hours in advance”. The flight schedule will be adapted and customers will be informed the day before their trip.
