Agents able to reemphasize “cruises are one of the safest ways to travel”

Travel agents are reporting good sales for cruise trips, following a dip in bookings following the Costa Concordia tragedy. As a consequence, cruise prices are forecast to rise. Even bookings from people going on a cruise for the first time are up.
Ralph Santisteban, owner of Miami-based CruiseOne: “Business has increased significantly at our agency. It [the Concordia incident] gave us an opportunity to reemphasize the fact that despite a tragedy like this, cruises are likely one of the safest ways to travel the world.”
However, although bookings in North America are pursuing this pattern, the fall in Europe has been more dramatic and more prolonged.
