Aalborg Airport unveils 2013 finances

Airport wants to reflect greater transparency

Until now, Aalborg Airport has declined to publish annual reports. But this looks set to change. The accounts for 2013 have just been published, revealing a modest profit of DKK 145,000 (€19,500).

As companies, Danish airports such as Copenhagen, Aarhus and Billund share their accounts publicly in accordance with the country’s Companies Act. But Aalborg Airport, a municipal cooperative, has not made its financial statements available. Now it wants to change, in order to reflect greater transparency about its operations.

Last year’s net profit is a significant improvement compared to 2012 when the airport faced a loss of DKK 4.5 million, primarily due to the bankruptcy of the airline Cimber Sterling.
