Passengers surpassed three million in October
The number of passengers at Swedavia’s airports surpassed three million in October, corresponding to a rise of 7% from the same month last year. Almost 3.1 million passengers used one of Swedavia’s 10 airports during the month.
The number of international passengers was up 7% to 1.9 million and the number of domestic passengers was up 5% to 1.2 million.
So far in 2013 (January-October), more than 28 million passengers have flown to or from one of Swedavia’s airports, an increase of 4% or almost one million passengers from the same period in 2012.
“The increase in the number of passengers at our airports is almost twice as large as the European average. The offering of destinations outside Europe has also been expanded, and a growing number of people are flying to long-haul destinations,” says Torborg Chetkovich, Swedavia’s chief executive.
The number of landings in scheduled and charter operations at Swedavia’s airports in October was 19,500, up 4%.
