Finnair and Finavia’s A Match Made in HEL event held 12–13 October transforms Helsinki Airport into a unique pop-up skate park, highlighting the benefits of the Helsinki Airport as a fast transfer point between the east and the west.
Finnair and Finavia are arranging A Match Made in HEL 12–13 October – a one-of-a-kind event highlighting the benefits of Helsinki Airport as a fast transfer point between the east and the west. Celebrated Finnish professional skateboarder Arto Saari and his crew will hold the Arto Saari Invitational, which transforms the airport into a uniquely challenging skaters’ playground and gathers skaters from Asia and Europe to share their passion and show off their skills on the airport grounds.
To apply for the Invitational, skateboarders around the world are asked to share their skate videos at www.matchmadeinHEL.com. Arto and his crew will then invite four entrants from among the most popular to join them in HEL. Videos from the skateboarding sessions with all the behind-the-scenes details will be distributed to a global audience via the Match Made in HEL YouTube channel and other social media channels.
Helsinki Airport has emerged as major transfer hub between Asia and Europe, with 15 million passengers using the airport every year.
