American river cruise offers picnics and kite flying
American Cruise Lines, an operator of riverboats and small cruise ships in the United States, has today the addition of a new theme-cruise that “captures the heart and soul of the classic American summer”.
The company’s Old Fashioned Summertime cruise will be offered this summer aboard the newly built Queen of the Mississippi on July 13 and August 10. The eight-day journey from St Paul to St Louis will take in the upper portion of the river, known for its nature preserves, lock system and Mark Twain influence.
Highlights include kite flying off the top deck, picnics on board and in port complete with checkered picnic cloths and woven baskets fully-loaded with delicious food, an American cookout on deck, and outdoor movie screenings.
